Those are very nice - very evocative of Britains' figures of a century ago or the 1939 "Four Feathers" film (before they end up in khaki, of course - ugh). :-)
I'm sorely tempted to get some of those myself and try to resurrect my incredibly rusty painting skills, which were never very good anyway! (But don't tell my wife or I'll have to say your blog made me do it... ;-))
I look forward to seeing this project develop - hope you can overcome the disenchantment you've noted in your latest posting. Perhaps spending no more as you've suggested but concentrating on what you have in hand might work? Hope so...
